How Long Should A Vacuum Last?

Vacuum How Long It Can Last

The average lifespan of modern vacuum cleaners is rated at around eight years, but how long yours will live and serve you depends on a number of factors. Here are some:

-          The manufacturer and the model – some vacuum manufacturers have a reputation of building hardy machines like the SEBO vacuum that can last for decades, while the machines made by others have shorter lifespans. Complex models that have lots of special features also tend to break down sooner than simple models that feature only a strong motor and efficient filters;

-          The frequency of usage – if you use your vacuum every day, it will obviously last shorter than a vacuum that is used only once a week;

-          The intensity of the work – a vacuum cleaner that is used for heavy duty cleaning every couple of days becomes exhausted sooner than the appliances that are used for removing dust from carpets that are almost clean anyway;

-          Maintenance – like any appliance, vacuum cleaners also need maintenance, the related tasks being somewhat more complex than just emptying or replacing the dust bag or the container and cleaning the filters. It is a good idea to take the machine to a specialist every year – the technician will dismantle your vacuum and will clean and replace any component that needs to be cleaned or replaced.
